William joined HSVM as a Fund Manager in the Indexing Team in 2021. He plays a key role as the ESG champion within the team, taking responsibility for developing methodologies to reduce the carbon intensity of selective portfolios. Before joining HSVM, William served as a Research Manager at Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (HSIL) for seven years.

During his tenure, he gained extensive experience in conducting global index research and executing periodic index reviews for the Hang Seng Index series. Notably, he played a pivotal role in the design and research of HSIL's flagship product, the Hang Seng TECH Index, which garnered significant international attention and market following upon its launch in 2020. William also contributed to the research and design of HSIL's Thematic Index Series, including the New Economy Index, ESG indices, and the GBA index series.

Additionally, he played a role in expanding the Smart Beta index portfolio. William collaborated closely with HSIL's product team, working with clients on index design and the development of regional, ESG, thematic, and dividend indices. William holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree specializing in Financial Engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
